Since the ER visit last week, Adrienne has had increasing pain in her upper arm, shoulder, and back. This morning she seemed a little better but by this afternoon, it was bad enough for pain killers again. This pain isn't nearly as bad as what she had from the tumor between her ribs (which you can't feel anymore!!!) but bad enough to keep her from wanting to do much. We're off to New York on Saturday and hopefully they'll have more answers. At least she isn't blue any more.
Things are quiet here in the new year, which suits us just fine. Adrienne is going back to CMC in two weeks so she's been making plans and starting her thesis, which she needs to finish to graduate in May. Yes, we're concerned about her going back on her own but she's only a 50 minute flight or 3.5 hour drive away in case of an emergency, a lot closer than when she was in New York on her own, and I feel better with City of Hope nearby rather than with what we have here in Nevada.

Well, so glad to hear that the rib tumor has improved but so sorry that Adrienne is having to put up with yet MORE pain and worry.
I'm so in awe of her to desire to graduate - she's one strong lady! Her graduation day is going to FANTASTIC!
And hugs to you Alison - of course it's not going to be easy having her away from you again, but so much kudos for not stopping her. As hard as it must be, she has to LIVE her life......the way she wants to. I think I'm going to find that part of motherhood VERY hard - but thanks for showing me the way :0)
Love and the biggest hugs to you both.........Vx
Great news about the ribs! How is Adrienne otherwise - nausea and stuff?
I'm sorry about the pain in the back and arm. Hopefully, Dr.O will come up with something - maybe an MRI is due?
I'm starting bedamustine next week, but I'll have a thyroid nodule biopsy first to exclude another malignancy. They'll do it Monday and hopefully the results will be back within 3 days.
You go, Adrienne! Finish that theses and move on into the working people world! What's the degree in?
Big hugs to you girls. I'm constantly watching for updates, you both are my inspiration.

Hi my friends...I've been behind on staying updated with your blog...gosh...always hate to hear ur in pain Adrienne. As always...wishing for some more answers when you get to NY...Dr O always seems to know what's going on/right for you...hope he does this time too.
When will you be coming back to CA? Wish we were closer to your school so we could be nearby should you need a "mom and dad" to help you out. We are close enough for a weekend visit though...so please never hesitate to get in touch with us.
I'm also curious as to what your thesis is on.
As always ...sending loving ((HUGS)) of support, encouragement and hope...we never stop believing that you'll beat this beast for good!!
Susan
Hope you guys have a safe trip to NYC and get some relief for Adrienne. The weather on the East Coast hasn't been too bad, compared with what some other areas are getting, thankfully. Love and hugs, Janet
Hey girls,
Just a quick note to let you know I am thinking about you. Hoping your trip to see Dr. O has been a good one.
