Adrienne was diagnosed with Hodgkin's Disease in 1996 at age 9. She had multiple relapses, two bone marrow transplants, and a range of chemos and radiation therapies, and passed away on October 1, 2009. We are heartbroken.

- Adrienne was very much like others with Hodgkin's Lymphoma, the most common cancer in teens and young adults. What was unusual is that she had it for more than half her life and ultimately, it took her life. Hodgkin's is curable for about 80% people, but Adrienne was one of the 20% for whom a cure was elusive. She considered herself lucky since treatments had been there for her with each relapse but she ran out of treatment options and her body just couldn’t take any more. As she said, "Though I’ve now had cancer for most of my life, I no longer plan my life around it; instead, I try to plan cancer around my life." We hope you can take inspiration from her and how she lived her life.

Sending out hugs to you both... Adrienne, so sorry you have to deal with that pain. I hope the Dilaudid is doing the trick and soon you can get the heck out of the hospital.
Wonder if watching the food network might make you want to eat something?! Sometimes used to work for me...

Adrienne, I hope this message finds you feeling better and no longer in pain. You really got hit with a double whammy with the bone and mouth pain. I hope you'll be out of the hospital soon and enjoying your summer. Sending hugs to you and mom.

Oh my goodness, I HATE neulasta pain.. I also had to be on an IV Dilaudid drip for intractable bone pain when I was trying to mobilize cells. Tell Adrienne to hang in there, it will get better soon. Alison, keep those treats coming! She'll get em down eventually! Im praying for you! XOXO
Adrienne, I'm so sorry to hear that u are in the hospital and going through this stuff right now! :( I want that pain to get out of your body immediately! I am thinking of you, praying for you, and sending lots of love your way. Feel better!

Adrienne, you and your family are in our prayers and we hope you will be able to leave the hospital very soon. I'm Kara's step-mom, so that's how I know about you. You are a great inspiration for us and we send lots of love and hugs.

I just wanted to tell you that I am thinking of you and praying for your strength. I am a fellow hodgkins survivor (mbarfoot) who does not post much on the webmagic forums, but reads it a lot and have gotten so much encouragement and information from both of you, Allison and Adrienne. Hi my friends...hoping that today has been a better day for Adrienne and the pain meds are finally making a dent in the pain. Thinking of you both often.
All's going well here in NY. Katie and I are staying with my Dad until Sat, 7/25, Rich and Lauren go back to CA on this Sat. Tomorrow night we are all taking public transportation into NYC to meet R's cousin in Times Square...should be interesting!!
