3 weeks

Ok, I look at the calendar a lot. Adrienne was admitted here 3 weeks ago. Her longest hospital stay prior to this was 30 days in 2003. I'm sure she'll be here longer than that this time, but I'm starting to imagine taking her home. That would be so amazing.

They turned down the pressure on the vent today and she's tolerating it well. Her WBC came up a tiny bit so that's good news. Hopefully, she'll get chemo again within the week. Her chest xray looks better each day. Let's just pray that this continues.

It's like a marathon. Adrienne continues to amaze me as she runs this marathon home.

The good news is outshining the bad lately. More steps forward than backward.

I have to agree with you. Adrienne is going to make it home. And I have a feeling she is going to do it in style.

Sounds like a slow but steady improvement in Adrienne's condition. Wish it could be faster for you both but I know you will make it through this. Thanks so much for keeping up with the blog.

I'm so happy to read that Adrienne is improving! I know it's slow going, but it's a relief to know she's moving in the direction of getting off the vent and going home :-) Hugs across the miles, Jill

It IS a marathon - don't know how you do it. Hopefully you have friends (yours or Adrienne's) helping to pass the time and make the long days go by.

Sounds like some very encouraging news. I know that you're worried about Adrienne's marrow and it's ability to recover - the fact that you are seeing response from the Neupogen is really positive news in that regard.

Everything else sounding more or less stable (those ups and downs are stressful though) is just what you want - time for chemo to do its job.

Always thinking of you -- wish I was closer; at least I could dog sit! How is Naomi? Have you been able to find another dog sitter?

Take care,
Kathy
