Yesterday's scan showed a pneumopericardium caused by the vent pressure. The treatment is to paralyze her and then do some magic with the vent...except that it messed up her blood gases really bad. They were in and out all night. Thankfully, things settled down this morning.
The scan is a bit confusing. The cancer looks improved but overall, the lungs look worse and they don't know why. The feeling is that it's probably new infection but we won't know until the bronch washings are back on Monday. It could also be lymphatic spread of the disease. Again, the bronch will tell us.
Adrienne's counts are great and even her platelets didn't go down today. The only new thing is that her liver enzymes are way, way up. They're going to repeat the blood work to see if this is real or a lab error.

Wishing you a smoother day after such an awful night, Alison and Adrienne.
You know we're all pulling for you, every second of every day......love to you all.........<3
The rollercoaster ride continues. :( I'm so sorry you are having to go through all of this. Words can't describe how I'm feeling, so please just know I'm thinking of you and Adrienne constantly and my prayers are with you and your family.
Have I mentioned I'm not a fan of roller coasters?! All this up and down is making me woozy!
Hoping that the new blood work on the liver enzymes shows marked improvement...don't want anything to hold up more treatment...since we are praying that it can get started again when all the final bronch test rests are in on Monday.
Hope you are getting much needed rest whenever you can Alison. You gals are never far from our thoughts.
Love and ((HUGS)),
Susan and Rich
So sorry about the rough night. Neither of you need any more of those. It's a relief that things calmed down. If the cancer looks improved, maybe that's a sign that the chemo is working and treatment can continue soon. As always, I'm hoping for better news with each passing day. Stay strong and get rest. Here's to a more peaceful night.
Jack
What I wouldn't give for you guys to just have some peace and good news. I'll pray for that, in addition to healing. You're always in my thoughts.
Love,
Lisa
Sweet Adrienne,
There are so many of us praying for you right now. For now, my prayers are for you to get home. Once you reach that goal, my prayers will be for continued healing so you can continue on with your amazing journey. There is so much more to live for.
While you been dealt a seriously awful hand, you have played it well for so many years. There is no reason to believe that the game is over yet.
Keep on fighting. Keep on playing. We'll all keep on praying and sending love your way.
A Mom
Alison, I don't know what to say except hang in there. Sorry you both had such difficult night. I hope tonight is peaceful and you can get some much needed rest. You are in my thoughts everyday. I do hope tomorrow brings improvement all around.

Hi Alison,
I'm following this on the hotel's computer. We just got checked in. I'll continue to follow this way every day. Sounds like mixed results today. As one of your other correspondents said, the rollercoaster ride continues. We continue to hope for only the best.
Much love,
Mom and Ed
I hope today was better, and more restful. thinking of you.
Veronica said it all. Every second of every day we are sending all of our support yor way. Wish we could do more. Love & hugs, Maureen & Stephen
i'm praying that Adrienne's lung issues are mostly the result of an infection that will be responsive to antibiotics and that she will be well on her way to treatment and recovery. has Dr. O weighed in or will that maybe happen Monday?
Up in the wee hours of the morning and thought I'd check in. I hope Adrienne and you are having a more restful night tonight. Sending love.
Lisa
Dear Alison & Adrienne!
Thinking of you feeling better soon

Hi Alison,
We're still hanging in there with you and Adrienne and reading the blog once or twice a day. Tomorrow we're moving into San Diego from La Costa which is rather isolated, and then we go home on Wednesday morning. At least the computer access here is good so we can keep in touch. We continue to hope for a good outcome after all this awfulness.
Love,
Mom and Ed
