GND it is

Naomi is okay. It was a diabetic crisis. I'm sure that she didn't get her insulin in between the vomiting and that caused the problem. They're keeping her for 24 hours for observation but she should be okay.

We now have a plan. Adrienne will start GND today and get another treatment next Saturday. She was throwing up all day yesterday so we want to make sure she has plenty of antiemetics on board. She's down to 94 pounds so they're starting TPN today too. A lot of activity...and she needs a PICC line because she doesn't have enough lines for everything she needs. I don't think this is going to be a fun day.

Aw no fun at all. I've heard great success stories with GND though, has adrienne had it before? I hope today offers some rest and healing despite all the added meds and activity. Adrienne is a hero in my book!

adrienne & alison!

best wishes for what you're describing as a tough day ahead for both of you. glad you got a chance to talk with doctor o before the rituxan would have been administered. i don't know him but he sounds like an amazing guy to me. and from what i've (briefly) read of GND it sounds promising.

as always, my thoughts and prayers go out to both of you.

Hey Adrienne and Alsion,
Veronica is away so you're stuck with me for a few days! Sorry about that.
Just know we're all thinking about you all the time and feeling totally helpless by being so far away.
I'm glad a plan is now in place; no matter how unpleasant it may be. It's sounds like you have a wonderful, supportive medical team behind you. I'm sure they'll do all they need to do to get that girl I met in Boston back up on her feet again and lighting every room up with that unbelievable smile of hers.
We miss it.
Love to you all.
Say "Hi" to that TOGgle for me as well. I'll never forget her support during my transplant.

I really hope today ends up being less awful than you've prepared yourself for, Alison. God bless Adrienne - hurling is so taxing and exhausting, that's the last thing she needs on top of it all. Praying that the anti-emetics do their best job.

I love you guys,

Lisa

Alison,

Thank goodness Naomi is alright...OMG!

Jake's best response was to GND. That was as close to remission as he's ever been. I don't remember it being to hard on him. I know Adrienne is a little more fragile now, but hopefully this will do the trick.

Pulling hard for you girls.

Good morning...and I mean that in EVERY sense of the words. Hope the day goes easier on your both than you are expecting.

Now you have Wullie himself on board....picture him shaking his pom poms! They do work miracles ; )

Adrienne,

I am happy that your doctors have come up with a plan to get you home. Keep on fighting girl. If anyone can do this, it is YOU.

Glad to hear there's a plan... I'm assuming it's a reduced dose of GND? Hoping this is Adrienne's ticket home! Again, please relay my support in getting through this mess...

I guess it's appropriate that it's "Labor Day", jeez...

Hope you're getting enough rest Allison.

Positive Vibes, Chris

Thinking of you all. My computer crashed a week ago and I just learned what happened during the last few days.
I'm sure the new protocol will shrink the disease but I understand how difficult it is to find the right balance, especially in these tough times.

Hang on, Adrienne. HANG ON because you will soon feel better.

Lots of warm thoughts.
