Afternoon update

I love Dr T (the pulmonologist) and Dr N (the internist). Dr T was surprised about the vent issue this am since Adrienne's chest xray actually looks better. He got the RT to spend about 20 mins changing the vent settings and actually skipped a step in the step down. Seems that Adrienne is breathing too much on her own. They're going to sedate her more so they can do this step down and just pray that she can still get off the vent. She can only keep the tube down her throat for 14 days and they would need to give her a trach to stay on the vent. I know that she wouldn't want that.

Dr N and the nephrologist had another idea about how to stop the TPN to give her liver a break and to try to get her gut moving again. We'll see how that goes.

There's a new onc attending from NVCI and we really don't like him. He's very negative and averse to Dr Os suggestions. I've asked Adrienne's regular onc here about how to get another attending. I'll update when I hear something.

Alison - I really can't thank you enough for all your updates. I just can't get the both of you out of my mind, so it's wonderful that I can keep as up to date as I can via your updates..........<3

I truly hope that you can get another attending onc - your gut instinct is rarely wrong and seriously, who needs negativity at a time like this?? :0/
Glad yet more solutions are being sought and am praying and wishing for them to work.......Adrienne - you're the epitome of a fighter and we're with you every tiny step of the way....love you, Amazing A........<3

I agree with Veronica! My onc told me that when he presented my case to tumor board, everyone agreed with the eBEACOPP recommendation except some young wet-behind-the-ears doc. I'm glad my onc didn't listen to him. I seriously doubt this guy has seen as many successes as Dr. O.

Thinking of you always, Janet

Like thousands of others all over the map we are really cheering for you Adrienne, you are amazing. Hang in there everyone and thanks so much for the updates Alison. There's hope and plans and wonderful folks there to get them into action. Keep up the fight. With much love and hope

Keeping Adrienne in my thoughts and prayers. Hoping things improve and Adrienne can get off the vent. She is so lucky to have you as her advocate and seeing she gets the best care possible. I am sorry the new doctor is so negative-not what you need right now. Some (not all) of those doctors just have no bedside manner.
Stay strong Adrienne and Alison!

So thankful that you have a couple of doctors on the A-team that are encouraging and willing to try whatever it takes to bring Adrienne back around. I'm sure they realize how special she is to you and so many others who care so much about her. Hang in there my friend. Feel the power of prayers and love surrounding you.

Stand your ground against that newbie...he will feel the power of the A-team (including Dr O).

No negativity on the A Team...I hope that doctor gets the boot. I'm just grateful for that bad apple, you have two good and sweet ones in the persons of Doctors T and N.

Continuing to think of you guys constantly, and sending love.
