Doc update

The pulmonologist wasn't so worried about this morning's back step. He hopes to extubate by the end of the week. Wouldn't that be amazing? The chest xray is the same as last Friday but a 50% improvement overall.

I spoke with Dr. O a little bit ago and he's happy with the response. He said she's supposed to get chemo on day 1 and 15, not on day 1 and 8. He says her counts should come up by then. She got platelets and red cells this morning. Now we just need to get the sedation right.

Glad to hear the response is good. I'm thinking the dilaudid is making her react the way she is. I was on that drug once for a few weeks after surgery, and holy cow..I felt like I had dementia!! Hope they can change her meds for that!! Thinking of you girls every day!!

Love this new turn of events. What a roller-coaster ride these past few weeks have been! Adrienne sure knows how to keep the doctors on their toes.

She's gonna' be home before you know it. Believe.

So glad that the docs are still planning on weaning her off the vent . . . so encouraging. Good luck with the sedation issues.

I didn't get to post a reply to this mornings first post....so glad to check back this evening and see some improving news. God Bless Dr O...he always has something good to say : )
Hope tonight brings a better nurse and a restful sleep for you both.

I'm so sorry Adrienne had a bad night and the nurse was not helpful. That's all you need.

Sending prayers that the counts are higher tomorrow, the lungs are better and she is well on her way to getting off that vent.

I'm glad she has another week for those counts to rebound.

NOW CHEMO ! DO YOUR JOB! And, be gentle on Adrienne.

Remember to take care of yourself. Find a little peace wherever you can, every day. Find a moment to relax.

Extubation - that word never sounded so sweet as it does in your post! Bless Dr. O and the wise counsel he provides. We'll continue to hope and pray for improvement.

Love,

Lisa
