Adrienne was diagnosed with Hodgkin's Disease in 1996 at age 9. She had multiple relapses, two bone marrow transplants, and a range of chemos and radiation therapies, and passed away on October 1, 2009. We are heartbroken.

Alison, just posted a comment and saw your new update, I pray and believe Adrienne WILL make it through - just saw a blog I follow Brian Koffmann writes the most amazing post about the NewYear:
I want to share this with You:
To my friends struggling with life's battles, may this new year bring you victory, or if that is not possible, a deep and meaningful detente with the enemies within and without.
To the researchers looking for a cure in the workings of our cells gone bad, may the light go on this year and stay on through all the validations, and may the move from the bench to the clinic be easy, swift, and cheap.
To the families of those with loved ones up to their eyebrows with the travails of illness, may you find the strength and support to keep on the relentless and under-recognized fight you fight.
To our political leaders, may they remember the unforgiving reality and the often unintended consequences of whatever changes they may make to healthcare for those of us living on the knife's edge. May they remember who they work for and who pays their salaries.
To all my friends, those I have met, and those I will never meet, may it be a year of peace and joy and prosperity and some good deep belly laughs.
I do get by with a little help from my friends. We all do. Thank you everyone for your support. Especially my family and most especially my wife."
(((Hugs)))

Finally, please find it in your heart to forgive me and others for both our shortcomings and overreaching. I have had my share.
We are all in this together. I am here to help. G-d bless.
Alison,
I'm thinking of you two this weekend and am hoping my good vibes are helping you.

hi adrienne & alison -- am thinking about you both (especially since i'm closer to you two -- am in dallas this weekend for work) and sending my wishes and prayers. despite that rather ominous comment from the doctor the fact that adrienne is trying to breath on her own is giving me hope. again, i send you both my love, and and keeping my fingers crossed that you'll both be watching top chef and eating gourmet fare in the casinos in due time.

Dawn and I have been reading daily and keeping up with everything going on. Please know that you've been in our prayers and continue to be. Let Adrienne know her friends from the South are praying for her.

Well, if ever a comment was going to spur Adrienne on then an 'IF' comment will do just that......I bet, through her sedated state, a thought ran through her and lit a spark something along the lines of 'screw you, doc, I WILL make it through the weekend and much more besides' ;0)
Hope things start to improve with her breathing and that you are able to take some comfort from all your friends, far and near, cos we're all here rooting for you all.............<3
Adrienne,
Feel the power of our prayers. Let the vent do the work and you just heal!
Alison,
